The cartographical firm of W. & A. K. Johnston printed the anatomical charts developed by anatomist Sir William Turner in the first decades of the 20th century. Turner served as a faculty member and president of the University of Edinburgh for many years. These prints are demonstrative of the advent and usage of the microscope, which had come to the fore in the late 19th century.
This chart documents the circulatory system and the lungs.
