E.T. Burrowes Co. were manufacturers of some of the finest screened products in the late 19th century. Based in Portland, Maine, the company supplied window screens and doors for everyone from P.T. Barnum to A.J. Drexel. This screen door is one of the finest we’ve ever had in the shop. The original screening is intact and in great condition – a testament to the storied quality of the Burrowes’ screens. The original brass hallmark plate on the back gives a patent date of 1903 and the overall condition of the door is very good.
