Stout, sturdy, and fitted with cast iron strap hinges, we have no doubts about the long life that this door has lead. The brass hardware is an enchanting addition and the green patina on the copper rivets adds yet another dimension of wonder to this little door. In its useful life, the pattern of wear and weathering indicate that the door was consistently used in a practical manner as well as standing testament to the careful craftsmanship in its construction.
