You may be familiar with the name J.L Mott due to the fame afforded the company when artist Marcel Duchamp selected a urinal from the J.L. Mott showroom in Manhattan and presented it as a work of art called “Fountain” in 1917. This more humble hot water heater base, while not a famous work of art, is still elegant and functional. With a well-aged green patina, this base would make an excellent side table with the addition of a piece of glass or a statement garden piece.
