Founded in New York in 1867, Keuffel and Esser undertook the bulk of their manufacturing in Hoboken, NJ starting in 1875. The 45 catalogs issued by the company remain a great source for identifying the instruments and tools produced by one of the most sought-after manufacturers of drafting and architectural equipment. This fine example of a K&E drafting table retains almost all of its original pinstriped detailing, foot rest, and white pine top. The top is riddled with pinholes from years of drawing tack use but is still in solid condition, with the t-square guide wheels still attached to its back. The optional tool shelf and drawer box are no longer extant, however, the mounting brackets still remain in place. Circa 1910.
