This beautiful nickel-plated cash register was made by the renowned National Register company in 1909. Since the register retains its original labels including serial numbers, we know it was made for a shop owner name Jacob Coffman in Charleston, WV. The register itself is a thing to behold; the ornate case has four rows of keys (including a key for shoes) as well as a row of special clerk keys with corresponding drawers. The ten-drawer oak paneled case flares to a bombe shape at the base.
