Manufactured in the early 20th century by Sargent and Corbin (among others), these knobs were a commissioned design for the newly created public secondary school system in New York that was initiated in 1896. Other city school districts in nearby states would also utilize this design. Made of cast brass, the design of these knobs features a beautifully scripted text surrounded by swirling foliage. A classic collectors knob, the set includes two knobs and a spindle. Please note that these are original knobs and their patina varies on each set.
