In the city dubbed “ the Paris of the West”, a woman named Natalie Schell patented this adjustable bust dress form from strips of malleable metal. A highly unusual article in itself, the fact it was the creation of a female inventor makes it all the more incredible. This form was created specifically for a “Mrs. W. Rogers” as written directly on the piece itself. Circa 1890, this dress form is one of the most interesting things we’ve seen here at the shop in a long time, both visually and historically.
