Also known as Chinese Quadrangles, the Siheyuan a Chinese style courtyard house that has an architectural history thousands of years long. Visitors to these large family complexes would enter from the street through large doors into a garden courtyard. These doors, salvaged from China, are composed of heavy solid wood with hand forged iron details and emblazoned with a banner in now faded painted paper. Riveted sheet metal flourishes at each corner resemble the Chinese “lucky cloud” and circular handles with iron rope pulls call to mind the tradition of the Siheyuan door.
Each door measures 112 x 61 x 5.
